Learn to Navigate the Unique Conflicts of New Roles

Transitioning from being an individual contributor to a leadership role can be difficult, with the unique challenges of having tough, honest conversations and overcoming peer resentment and initial awkwardness. Mitigating these difficulties and promoting a smooth peer-to-leader transition requires communicating clearly, navigating challenging situations well and establishing clear expectations.

Our Peer to Leader transition session helps empower your team members and provide them with the tools and techniques to move from one role to another successfully. A successful transition will give your emerging leaders the confidence to lead their teams, improve performance, grow trust and credibility, and keep the team engaged and satisfied.

What to expect:

  • Tools and techniques: Our facilitator shares valuable information and proven tools and techniques to help participants successfully transition into their new leadership role.
  • Challenge exploration: The session explores challenges typical in transitions, what to do to move things forward and what advantages come from moving from peer to leader.
  • Interactive sessions: Our facilitators will provide case studies and interactive roleplaying scenarios to help participants apply their learning and promote recall.

Training Objectives

Our peer to leader transition course’s objective is to empower participants, giving them the necessary tools to be influential leaders. The course addresses:

  • Transition hurdles: The course discusses challenges that typically happen during the transition phase to equip participants to deal with them constructively.
  • New situations: Part of the transition from individual contributor to team leader, supervisor or manager is dealing with new situations. The course empowers the team to handle situations effectively.
  • Rapport: By constructively managing hurdles, the new leader will build credibility, improve team performance and earn respect. Training assists the leader in establishing rapport with staff.

The training established a baseline for our peer to leader development program. Working closely with Ms. LaWanda and the Elite staff we should be able to build on this training over the next few weeks. All the feedback I received was positive from the class attendees.
